Heather Whitten is a Full Spectrum Doula, documentary photographer, and certified lactation counselor.  This season of life has a full range of outcomes and she supports and photographs people through many different pregnancy and postpartum experiences [chosen or not].

Heather comes into full spectrum work after more than a decade of professional and personal experience.  She has been documenting births since 2009 and has grown her family through an array of experiences including infertility, loss, births, adoption and abortion.  She knows that there is no perfect way to build a family, birth a baby, be a parent, or experience a loss and honors that fact through her work.  She is known for being a grounding and respectful presence in the birth space and her work is often described as being an etherial peek into birth that doesn’t hold back its realities.
Heather is an Air Force spouse and a North Carolina transplant by way of Arizona and Florida.  She is a mother of four school-aged children now living in Maryland.
