Real life speaks to me.
I want my images to also reflect honesty, authenticity and the bravery of life well-lived. I want to help people see real, raw and genuine parts of themselves and appreciate those parts.
My passion for photography lies in birth. There is no better opportunity to capture raw emotion. Birth stories not only help families remember the biggest day of their lives, but it helps them process the gravity of those moments. It’s a chance to look back on all the complex emotions only labor and a new baby can bring and revel in them.
There is so much beauty in real life, we just have to be willing to look at it.
I am a wife, and mother to three. I am a firefighter, EMT, victim advocate and coroner. I am a journalist, a storyteller and a documentarian.
My life is blended and messy. It’s full of adventure and often in transition.
And it’s so beautiful.

I believe in the power of a good therapist. It’s been a long road and I’m still on it.
I believe kids should learn through experience. Let them eat dirt.
I believe in jumping in with both feet, come what may.
