I am a homebirth baby myself, out of Corinna, Maine. My birth was documented with film and a VHS back in 1991. I recently uploaded my birth to Youtube and now over 200k people have seen my birth! I have always grown up knowing and seeing homebirth and being proud of the documenting of a baby coming into the world. So when my sister had her second baby in 2007, I used her little digital camera and took all the photos! I was so amazed and fascinated by what I had just witnessed in front of my very own eyes. I was 16 years old at the time, so I was not quite the age of knowing what I wanted to do with my career. I went to college and got 2 degrees in business management and small business development in 2012. I spent a couple of years trying to navigate my career path and my photography hobby became my full time job in 2017. I photographed a birth for a friend and was once again reminded of the incredible miracle I witnessed and documented a miracle and a light went off inside my head. It was a slow transition, just a few births that first year, and with each year came more clarity that I wanted to do birth photography full time.
