I am a wife, mother, chicken-lover, dog-chaser, avant-gardner, artist, and a dreamer. I grew up in a lot of different places, from Guam to Florida to California to Washington to Italy to London, England (where I went to high-school and met my husband). I graduated from the University of Washington in 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Visual Art. I am also a birth doula and childbirth educator and hope to someday complete a Master’s degree in midwifery and become a Certified Professional Midwife. I have four children, my first was born by cesarean section, my second was a hospital VBAC, and my 3rd and 4th were born at home in our living room. I love chatting about birth, so don’t hesitate to ask me any questions! As a birth doula, I know the “language” of birth and I am practiced in capturing fleeting moments and emotions in rapidly changing lighting conditions and varying spaces. I have worked together with many midwives, doctors, and other doulas when acting as a birth photographer and I understand how to work discreetly to capture your story while respecting your birth space and the working space of your birth team. It is important to me that we get to know one another prior to your birth, you should feel 100% comfortable with everyone who will be in your birthing space, including your photographer. That is why each booking begins with an in-person consultation so that we can meet and discuss your birth and your photography needs. When I’m not photographing a new life coming into the world, I enjoy photo-journalistic family/lifestyle photography, event photography, and portraiture. My goal is to make images that are raw, meaningful, magical, and sincere. Thank you for your interest in my work!
